Garden Master Plan

Camiro Pollinator Garden

Since 2021, SABER has been dedicated to creating a pollinator garden that serves as a haven for bees, butterflies, and other critical pollinators. This long-time goal began with transforming unused raised beds from the agriculture classes after successful negotiations with the school board. In Fall 2024, we expanded the garden into a thriving project with five newly constructed raised beds, a trellis, and a beautifully crafted bench contributed by the Agriculture class.

Pollinators are vital to our ecosystems, playing a crucial role in fertilizing plants that produce food and maintain biodiversity. Yet, they face significant threats from habitat loss, pesticide use, and climate change. Our pollinator garden is a step toward addressing these challenges, providing a sanctuary for these essential species.

As we move forward, we are focused on building irrigation systems to sustain the garden, planting vibrant native species for spring, and constructing additional features such as a birdhouse, insect hotel, and picnic table. Each addition enhances the garden’s purpose as both a functional habitat and an educational resource for our community.

By creating this garden, we hope to inspire others to protect pollinators and take meaningful action for our environment.
